Never put cola in it! I always use toilet paper pushed through the tube with welding wire, seems to work.

Like IDP says - a good rinse then in the freezer. Minimum effort with maximum results. Both my Platypus and Inov-8 jobbies are still looking and smelling sweet after years of this approach.
