    Nike LunarGlide vs other shoes

Just been looking at the new Nike LunarGlide 3 shoes and I cant actually see a difference between them and any of the other Nike support shoes. Can someone please tell me what the difference is?

    from my own experience,
i am on my 3rd pair of lunaglides.
i used to wear pegasus but the last model created knee pains, and i was not alone as at least 3 other club mates had same problem.
i found lunaglides suit my running and foot fall.
as to the other cushioned shoes i guess there more aimed at road runnig and extra softness.

Main difference is weight, and the "dynamic support unit" which essentially claims to be only supportive when, and where you need it. Where as others have the support all the time. I had a pair of the first edition which I though were pretty good, second edition felt weird so got a pair of pegasus +28's.

I would guess that most fell runners do at least 50% of their training on the road. I find the road shoe stuff helpful as our requirement is different from the road only runners.

The last time I trained on the roads was 2001 when Foot and Mouth kept us off the fells.

Hated it then and I have no doubts that I'd hate it now

Lucky you, I don't get any fell running in through the week as simply don't have the time to get anywhere appropriate so end up doing most of my weekly training off road round my local area, with the odd bit of road stuff where necessary. I'd love to be on the fells all the time but it just isn't possible for me

i too hate running on the road but in winter i like to train with my club mates, who are not all fell runners and would not wear a head torch.
our winter/dark runs are on footpaths and snickets as well as road and have some very impressive burnouts.
these in turn give you good leg speed for the fells and help you appreciate the soft ground more.
but thanks to the advance in road shoes injuries are less frequent.

I don't run on the road either! Would rather stick pins in my eyes!

I'm sure lots of people do most of their training on the fells. It doesn't alter what I said. Also I agree with Dylan it might improve your speed if you did (do a bit on road not put pins in your eyes) I've been considering the Lunarglide. I went from the Asics 2140 to Saucony Kinvaras and wonder if the Lunarglide might be a good half way house. Anyone know?
