C'mon Pudgy, you can do it. It makes the beer taste even better afterwards.

Just another reminder for this little classic race on saturday.
After climbing a great hill one only finds that there are many more hills to climb ......

I think I might come and have a go at this.

Will I need to bring a map? What's the route?

No idea about the map, but goes from Pendleton (obviously) over the moor to cross the road below the ski slope, up to Apronful Hill, diagonally down to cross Ashendean Clough, then up steeply through the ferns to Judith Taylor's Cairn, down the steep nose by the Clough (where the full your goes up) then back the way you came. Simple eh?

You forgot the gallop round the field and the tarmac section (past the pub) before the moor..........

It goes a bit like this. It's usually well flagged.

Yes, that's about it. I'll be flagging the course before the start - by the way the 2.00pm start is earlier than in previous years !!!
Following the "warm up" round the field and the jog up the street it's then a classic up & down race.

Village cake stall should be in attendance as well as the Run Direct stall for equipment, courtesy of John& Linda Bostock.

My Clayton colleagues are providing great support for marshalling etc but with the clash with Dentdale many are "away". I am still looking for a bit a of marshalling support - not necessarily on the moor- so Mr Pudge if you want to volunteer I'll be in Pendleton from noon. I'll then include you again in the next Thursday night time trial in Great harwood

I'll post some more news of route conditions tomorrow evening.

    Cheers

    Mike
