    English Schools Fell Running Championships
    New venue for ESFRC
Change of venue for 2011 … Cockermouth School, Lake District
Cockermouth School have stepped in after Calder Valley High were unable to continue. Keswick AC Junior Coordinator and Cockermouth teacher Martin Sluce has a range of runnable routes going up and around Watch Hill. This is one of the few schools in the country with a fell on its doorstep, with changing rooms, facilities and plenty of parking all close together near the start/finishes. Access is easy – 30 minutes along the A66 from the M6 at Penrith. Loads of local and nearby accommodation.
The event will be Sunday 16th October 2011.
Keep an eye on the website for further details.

When will folk finally get there heads round the fact that Calder Valley had nothing to do with the cancelled venue which was simply Calder High School. The two are entirely separate and only linked via a mistake by the old coordinator which just wont go away

I see the problem! I have now removed the offending Calder Valley High School name from the esfrc website and note that it should have said Calder High School. Humble apologies for that awful oversight on my part

English Schools Champs today at Cockermouth. Martin Sluce has done a fantastic job of organising this and there are over 400 runners across 4 races and 8 categories racing today.

In an attempt to be modern & for anybody interested I'll tweet the the first three in each race during the afternoon (@duncsjr) although the formidable combination of Cockermouth School IT dept & Jim Godwin are also focussing on results.

    Good luck to everybody running.
