How long does your cuppa take??? I've done a whole load of wobble boarding, drunk a glass of wine and watched half of spooks on Iplayer whilst waiting for all to be revealed!!

    Re: Je m'apelle PMF

PMF was an extra-terrestrial robot who (to the best of my recollection) arrived on Earth in his saucer, in France - Dieppe I think, and hovered around (no legs)
learning all about France and its language so that a bunch of 12 year olds could learn along with him.
It was the 'Eclair' scheme, which was a series of educational cartoon pamphlets accompanied by an 'ecoutez et repetez' reel to reel tape a bit like this http://youtu.be/dYcyIE57aIQ
I can't believe how old I feel talking about reel to reel tape, took some real skill and patience by Mr Wielding on the deck to keep stopping and starting the tape in all the right places, throughout the lesson. PMF's catchprase "Je m'apelle PMF" was delivered in a grating metallic monotone, while gesturing in the cartoons gesturing with his floppy vacuum cleaner tube arms.
Unfortunately, twenty four years later, Je m'apelle PMF' is about the only sodding thing that I can remember, that and the fact that when he talked to a cow, it said Meu!
I'm done now, I'm boring myself sh**less let alone you poor gits.
Just finished and spotted your post Hes, sorry!

Looks a bit less threatening and unknowable than PMF for sure.

ha ha ha...I've got absolutely no idea what you are talking about but I like the sound of it. My French lessons were really quite boring. Latin was a lot of fun though...I recall having mock chariot races around the classroom. Can't remember any of the language though except 'salvete puellae' and 'salve magister'.

I remember having to chant stuff like Laudibatus, laudibimus, laudibunt or summatt similair in Latin. The teacher was irish and used to bring in pictures of leprechaun's in his garden, they were bloody garden gnomes! He always smelt of whiskey as well.

Now that is funny Steve! My French teacher had terrible BO. Wish she'd stunk of whisky instead.
(by the way, I just looked at the travellers thread and words fail me...some of the posts are sickening).
