    Question What's in your bumbag?

I will show you mine if you show me yours.

Who has the lightest, heaviest, or most bonkersest kit.

I can't run with even a slightly heavy bumbag, don't know how people do it. I have to use a rucksack to carry full kit requirements.

    it'll depend on the race.
Are we talking a short race, medium or long? Depends on if I need water or not.... hmmm. maybe your question needs more refinement?
or do you just mean a full on nasty weather long ass race (which runs into the night) with full kit requirements and damn the water?

    Re: What's in your bumbag?

To be honest I was looking forward to hearing about the daft stuff but one reason for starting this was, the recent posts on here, asking 'what to take' and 'how can they fit all that in a bumbag'.

Ok I will start it off
    If asked for full water proofs ;

    Omm 3ltr bum bag
    Rab demand cag
Cheepo waterproof troos. Blacks own brand I think.
    Outdoor designs Beanie.
Powerstretch goves or thickie stickie gloves (Yes I know I am soft but I get cold hands )
    Orange whistle
Cut down and bagged map covering race area.
    Compass
    Mini 1st aid kit
Camera Attachment 5117 to pap the paps
Depending on conditions, distance and, Food and water (or empty bottle /bag to collect water)
    Survival bag

It all fits in a 3ltr bag with room to spare.

Daft stuff - I often forget to take the poo bags and dog treats out of my bum bag. These are not usually part of the compulsory Kit.

Probably best to leave them in, I can think of races where both could have been very useful.

    My bumbag contains:

Map case & map (It makes me laugh seeing people trying to read paper maps in wet and windy conditions).
A couple of pens & pencils.
2 pairs of gloves (thin touch gloves and fleece gloves).
    Cheap waterproofs (top and bottoms).
    Pertex top (occasionally).
Fleece hat (I dont believe that buffs count as a hat).
    Whistle.
    Normally a few quid.
    Survival bag.
    Firstaid kit.
Food & water (or empty bottle to fill on the way round).
    Dog poo bags.
    Dog treats.
A few sheets of comfy bum.
    Car keys.
Note with emergency contact details on it.

Anything over 10-12 miles & I will pop a small drink & a Nakd bar to go with waterproofs, keys & a bit of money. However, after suffering from bleeding nipples yesterday, I have popped vaseline & plasters on Mrs H's shopping list. These are usually in to be fair, but an oversight on my account yesterday.

    All the specified requirements:

    Hat (from a Christmas cracker)
    Gloves (surgical variety)
Waterproof trousers (clingfilm with Selotaped seams)

I don't know how I fit it all in!
