In my army days the sticky back plastic was called Fablon. I used to get some right bollockings about the amount of bubbles all over the command post maps, which normall caused me to cop the 3 am stag !

I'm sure there was a thread on this last year....Watch out the grump will out....!
I have all of the uk in 1:50000 + 1:25000 OS I have all my maps from races either SBP'ed or laminated(Wife got me one for my birthday!!)
Most have route notes on inc bearings, times, heights etc, which i occasionally up date, they go back in to a file for the following year. I have all the local area laminated so rarely use a full size map but ALL maps have gridrefs added if missing and the area code.
Fancy sharing em Ian ?
I saw Madelaine (FRA treasurer) with something similar a couple of years ago, no idea if it was successful or not.
I use Tracklogs digital maps (www.tracklogs.co.uk) and then print out with the route marked. Usually I then put the map in a plastic A4 wallet and sellotape over the end to keep it dry.
I started off using OS explorer maps 1:25000 but have started using the Harveys BMC maps (1:40000) or the Harverys superwalkers 1:25000 find them much better
MemoryMap printed out, bearings where needed and laminated. They last for ages.
Memory Map is sooooo expensive though !
