Following on from having a virus a couple of weeks ago, I started training again thinking I'd be OK, as until the end of May I had enjoyed over 18 months injury free!
I did my first track session, deliberately running in the next group down from when I was fit (still a good group though, indeed it included The Heathens amongst others!
). The session was 24 x 200M with reducing recovery - on the 10th rep, suddenly... twang... left hamstring shooting pain right down from the bum to the back of the knee. Had to completely stop and thought I'd really done some damage.
However, had a swim the next day and was OK so ran the following day - was OK. Saw the physio who didn't find any damage so thought it was just one of those things... anyway, 10 minutes into the Sunday run, same thing happens... made my way home and arranged to see the physio again on Thursday. The area is a bit sore walking around now, but I suspect it will be OK again by midweek, like last time.
Now I think it's going to be a long hard summer
Anybody got any ideas/comments?...
