Did it last year. Very enjoyable well organised race. Excellent start and finish on the school field, great atmosphere. Testing first mile one short sharp steep bit at about half way but all runnable. Was worth the journey up from Suffolk.
Give me the strength to try :sneaky:

Definitely not a fell run, but I've done it twice now and would recommend. As NPH says, a good uphill section to start if they run the same route as last year (different from the year previously). A couple of squeeze points thereafter means its not PB potential (not an issue for me!), but then becomes more undulating along some nice paths for much of the rest with a couple of short sharpish climbs thrown in for good measure. One part in particular could be muddy with recent rain, but still no bother in road shoes or light trail shoes. Mudclaws not required!

    Fantastic event!

Superb organisation, great atmosphere, lovely undulating course with multifarious underfoot, well marshalled, 4 water stations (needed in the astonishing heat), chip timing, nice tech T-shirt

would deffo do this again

Relieved you enjoyed it, after recomending it. Expensive compared to fell races but I remember last year thinking the t-shirt was actually worth most of the entry fee. For all those on the beginners forum thread wanting to get into Fell running this is the sort of event they should start with not the Three Peaks like i did!

I paid #20 to enter (#18 + #2 online admin) and actually thought it was really good value overall.
tbh with about 400 entrants I doubt that they made much profit

How did you manage to start with the Three Peaks? Thought you had to do the neccessary qualifying races to get into that
