    Favourite motorway?

I've been torn between the M6 and the M62 for years now, but i think the M6 loses out dispite fielding an impressive view of the Howgills.

    Panorama here.

Roads like the A1M don't count, motorway regulations have to be consistent throughout the entire length.

M6 is the best and worst for me.

Anywhere south of the Tickled Trout can be classed as the worst road in the world....above there, very nice!

Agree - it improves as you get North from about Haydock.

Views of Rivington and Winter Hill, followed by a super view of Parlick and the Bowland Fells, Hutton Roof Crags always looks great on the right with views across Morecambe Bay to the South Lakes and then the Howgills has got to be the best stretch of Motorway in the country.
Once up Shap, the lakes to the left and the High Pennines beyond Penrith to the right.

It also has the best service station in the Country at Tebay.

No such thing as a nice road, only roads that go through nice places - places that would be improved by the road not being there.

    M6 has Tebay services
    M74 has the cock forest.
Both make the journey to Scotland that bit more bearable.

The motorway up Skiddaw is okay for an hour or so on a nice evening but anyone who enjoys time on others wants their head looking at :closed:

You clearly don't enjoy driving, or can't drive very well.

It's a necessary evil. My driving is average.

Fair enough, but there are many very nice roads.
