Another great Roaches. A little slower this year, 3:22, so seven minutes off last year's but I take some comfort from the fact that the winner was nearly 14 mins behind last year's time. And I was out on the beer last night.
Mud! And then some. Great organisation, good to have booked the weather. Well done Mow Cop. And thanks

my first Roaches and what a fantastic day for it
still plenty of mud (which I believe is traditional), and don't think I got my pacing right as I was struggling even to walk over the fields down to the finish
    well organised, light-speed results
and great to see so many familiar faces

I was happy with my sub-3 hours (target) after 3:12 last time.
It was a morale boost for once to have passed the water station before the climb up Shut as the leaders passed on their way back.

IDP - so sorry to sneak past you cramping up in the fields at the end.
I felt for you (having cramped similar myself in long races).
Funnily last time I did Roaches I did the exact same to a club-mate in exactly the same place.
There is not much more than kind words that one can offer in that situation.
Thanks Obi, not sure why it happened, well down on previous performances and on last weeks race, may be I haven't recovered properly.

Club champs next weeks so will rest after tomorrow race...yes I'm racing tomorrow...

It's also always great to see so many friends and family out on the route.
Glad to see this great race is still in good hands - did it several times in the 1990's and only managed sub 3 hours once (must have actually put some miles in that year!) Will have to go and give it another go before I get too old.

Don't be fooled, my winning time was indeed nearly 14 minutes slower than last years', but in no way can I be compared to last years' winner Simon Bailey !!!

Who's out for this? Looking forward to it. Not raced this before.

I'm doing this... Had a decent run (by my own meagre standards) at Passing Clouds race earlier this year, which went over the Roaches, but think this will be a different proposition altogether...!
