I think that is why dieting is so hard. [/QUOTE]
Well that's a good excuse for being a fat bustard.
Tao begets one. One begets two. Two begets all things.
I rode my bike to the sandwich shop from work the other day instead of walking
Hills and Guinness!
Technically maybe it is, but I'm not covert about it. I open said sandwich in plain view and no member of staff has ever asked me not to do so. And until they do I shall carry on to do so. Said supermarket gets a hell of a lot of money out if me with 2-3 food shops and 300-500 miles worth of petrol per week. I'm sure me eating a sandwich which I always pay for come check out isn't an issue to them, so not sure why it is to members of the forum.

"That was the night everything changed"
Stealing to me is taking something that's not yours away from the shop
Well, I don't know much about criminal law but from wikipedia this seems about right to my mind: The actus reus of theft is usually defined as an unauthorized taking, keeping or using of another's property which must be accompanied by a mens rea of dishonesty and/or the intent to permanently deprive the owner or the person with rightful possession of that property or its use.
So, if you pop a few grapes in your mouth that might be theft, as you aren't going to pay for them are you? But if you offer to pay for the empty wrapper then I don't think that would be stealing, just a case of eat now pay later? I have done that in the past but not for years.
a rush and a push and the land is ours
I guess I was brought up differently, but I just think walking round a shop eating is impolite. Allowing your kids to eat / drink stuff as you shop just means.... blah, blah, blah.......
Just so you can get the idea, I'm also banning smoking, chewing gum and mobile phones at work.
Slightly off thread - interesting TV programs recently where they put people of different colour/race/religion together - it turned out - in my opinion - that some of the biggest differences were actually more about class than anything else - the biggest clash occurred when a muslim was being taught - I would say humiliated - how to set the table for dinner!
