Hi All !
I'm new to this site and have no experience of fell running. I am an experienced runner however.
We will be holidaying around Windermere during the 1st week of August and I'd like to try a couple of training runs on some more hilly terrain.
So can anyone recommend some 'not-so-strenuous' runs around the area which would be suitable for a fell-beginner?

Loughrigg and Wansfell on either side of Ambleside would be nice little ones to start with. Good views from the top of both. Enjoy!

You can make Wansfell a decent circular route from Ambleside, going via Troutbeck. Clockwise gives you a steep ascent early on; anticlockwise, the climb is steadier.
Alternatively, you could do some trail running on the western side of the lake - perhaps something based on the Hawkshead Trail race?
