Thread: light windproof top

    light windproof top

I'm looking for a light windproof top to go over a light base layer for very cold dry windy days. Waterproofs obviously cut the wind out, but get far too sweaty often leading to a fall in temperature too if the pace drops. Heavier windstopper material has the same results. The Buffalo light shirts looks quite good and packs away small and light.. Any suggestions please.

Buffalo are excellent. I use a Running Bear own brand number. Montane are popular and can often be found on offer on t'interweb

I can't imagine anything lighter or more comfortable than my Montane smock. I've actually got 3 in various colours and stages of wear. They pack so small, they are perfect to take along for emergencies.
    Begin afresh, afresh, afresh.

Agreed - and surprisingly warm for something that is so light/easily packable/cheap!

Yep, Montane Featherlite Marathon for me. Picked mine up for £25 from Go Outdoors. A bargain & then some. However, still pretty cheap here:

As mentioned above, you can't go wrong with a Montane Featherlite Smock!

Yep - but I prefer the jacket for the extra fiver or whatever ...
