"That was the night everything changed"
Its a shame that I cant get the sound to work on my computer - I can't view or sensibly post any you tube clips unfortunately. I love the way though that 1950's and 1960's American 'stars' somehow got involved in all the Christmas carol millarkey. Don't get me wrong there's something very Christmassy about it as background noise but to actually listen to Dean Martin crooning his own jazzed up version of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer (he actually refers to Rudolph as 'Rudie' at one point on a CD I have ) or Frosty the Snowman in the cold light of day somehow seems ridiculous
Already set a thread up for any Christmas refusant to vent their spleen.

Eavesy, that's not the kind of thing I had in mind. Having scanned your musical tastes I had hoped there would be a cheery video from you that didn't come with an 18 cert.....where in the Good Lords name did you find this one?
Now, as teacher would say. No, No, No...take that back to your desk and start again!
What have I done. Beach Boys, I need you now......
I feel slightly embarrassed to admit it but I like this...it always makes me think of the film Love Actually which, along with When Harry Met Sally, is one of my sneaky favourite Christmas films. Nothing like a bit of schmaltz eh?
(oooh yes and Bridget Jones's Diary for the best fight scene ever between Hugh Grant and Colin Firth, fantastic!)
'The birds are the keepers of our secrets'
Taken from the 'Brian Setzer Orchestra Christmas Extravaganza' DVD (a copy of which resides on my shelves with the rest of my Stray Cats/Brian Setzer CDs)
A bit different, but also thought provoking
Again, a bit different, but superbly written asmost of Steve Earles stuff is (this is on the 'Copperhead Road' album/CD)
Generally to be found plodding along with 'www.ackworthroadrunnersandac.co.uk'
