    Re: Review of 2011

Here's my tally of completed races for the year. Pretty much what I was planning. Results varied from top 25% to bottom 10%, so I'm not going to list the results

Things were going well until I took a tumble at the Wrekin Wrecker, and I've now lost any kind of form I might have built up, luckily it's 7 weeks until my next race so I've got some recovery time

    Box Hill B/M
    Long Mynd A/M
    Surrey Hills A B/L
    Welsh 1000 A/L
    Saunders - Carrock Fell MM
    Jack & Jill B/S
    Ben Nevis A/M
    Wrekin Wrecker A/M
    Cardington Cracker A/M

ZHR, that's an interesting mix of races ! Sorry to hear you're suffering. See you at Box Hill ?
Hills - good for the soul...

You got around a bit yourself!
    Maybe mate yes.
I've hardly run in anger since Borrowdale - just jogs to work and back. So it'd be interesting.
But have a bit of cycling fitness so that might carry over a bit.

I've got flu now but kept fit until this week
    BG winter
    Ramsay
    Paddy Buckley

I think this will certainly be my best year by miles (over a 1,000 actually) . Not bad for a lumbering 80kg plus plodder

Not very productive to be honest, mainly through work commitments and location, along with 2 ankle injuries.

Still did a handful of races mind, no serious race pace throughout the year, but there is always next year

Although I'll probably miss most of 2012 with work commitments hehe.

Hursty, you've done your bit this year keeping the Real Ale thread going almost single-handedly. Fine work :closed:

apologies for starting the thread then going awol
but seems to have been plenty of interesting summaries
dom - of course I didn't "forget" about the C&FD&U - but having done 32 events, I didn't want to bore everyone with a review of each! :w00t:
jodg - Thankyou for your kind words - I forgot to mention that my "proudest" moment of the year was finishing 15 Trigs, which I did mostly solo and took me over 17 hours
IainR - Thanks also - down at my humble level there seems to be no substitute for bulk mileage - I did 5 months of 40 Mile weeks and that set me up nicely - I dropped back to 25M/wk in Aug/Sep/Oct and could tell I was a bit "off" - picking it up again now though...
btw you forgot to mention your Peris win in your review!
