Mmh definite bias towards the Lakes, how about the North East and North Yorkshire, best medium in this part of the Country.
Blakey Blitz definite contender, new race Glaisdale Rigg was good (great if we take out some of the road) and the Three Tops, though i'm bias towards North Yorks don't know the North East.
Looking forward to the Christmas Holiday races.

Is enjoying the running
Try Mow Cop Sun April 1st - it's BM (6.5mile/1300ft) 200ft per mile, a couple of real tough climbs on it.
I think the answer to your question as to why Castleton has dropped from AM to BM is not to do to with major earth movement of tectonic plates, or kit, but rather
the decision by FRA to use metric units for fell race measurement from 2012 and changing the criteria from feet per mile to metres per kilometre.
This means that races need more climb per mile (or kilometre) to make the category A grade.
Under the old system I could probably have got Mow Cop into the AM category, just, with minor adjustments to the route - under the new system I just can't get enough climb in I am sure other race organisers will find themselves in a similar position.
Nowt ails a good bread eater!
surely the toughest medium in Snowdonia is the Half Peris?
Scramble the rock face through the glare of morning sun — to run
I'd recommend Ras Y Moelwyn - by far my favourite race this year, really surprised they only get 100 running it. Enjoyed Wyddfa too, a boring route as Iain says but the atmosphere and support in the town and on the mountain make it really special. In between those 2 I was injured so missed all the others I wanted to do - fingers crossed for next year.
