what a fantastic organised event. My only gripe is that I could not cash in my beer token at the top of Blease Fell which is where I needed it most.
The parking and all the signs to the headquarters and the start/finish were excellent. great marshalls at the checkpoints. I will definitely do this one again.
10/10
just a shame my running was not up to scratch. finished in around 2 hours dead. I mean I was dead
Any news on whether Mr Breeze got home safely?
Up the mighty Wharfedale 'arriers!
I can't see how he didn't, I cannot see how he was threatened at all, I just wanted him to say face to face to Sarah that she had been treated fairly. Between us we spoke with only one person who held a slightly opposing view, on the whole we received support and sympathy.
I had a shite run, went OK at the start, followed a scoffer short cut, with many others, our own fault, you make your own calls, lost places, got going again, took a gel and suffered really bad gut/stomach cramps. It's happened before so it was silly really. in the end I had to almost walk down both of the 2 last descents.
anyone know who the first runners were ect ?
I ran and ran until my Muscles burned and my veins pumped battery acid, ....And then i ran some more.
Not sure what went on at the front, heard differing numbers from front 1-4 who missed a check point heading up to the first summit.
I quite like this new 3 from 4 format, but it's unforgiving so bad runs have a big impact on your final scoring, but we're all in the same boat. Reckon that's my worst run since Peris 06, when again I had a gel issue.
Yep, Bailey was 1st, followed by Ricky Lightfoot, Jebby, Hope, then Ian Holmes. Pudsey got the team prize. A great race! Measured it on Google earth and its definately a bit more than 8 miles - try 9!
