I heard that the top 4 boys went below the first CP, missing it out completely, which to us should be disqualification, but that was just a murmour at the presentation...
Are there any results anywhere yet?
Fair enough, was there much advantage, I was suprised to see it there, but I didn't really study the map, was it really needed? It didn't seem to add much to go there and seemed on the logical route.
I'm not sure they should have any action taken. I don't know the route that well but it didn't seem that any great advantage was gained, unless it affected standings then I'd rather see them left as is. I don't know the rest but Holmsey doesn't come across as the kind of guy to deliberately try to gain an advantage.
So, just to clarify what you're saying, and confirm what I heard first hand, and saw with my own eyes.....
Some runners did NOT visit one of the checkpoints. As I understand it ALL runners MUST visit ALL checkpoints in the order as listed. I imagine this is clearly stated in an FRA document or handbook. It doesn't matter who you are or how good you are, we all follow the rules, right?
That'll be interesting to read the results then, won't it....
Why walk when you can run.
