    6-hour challenge

Am I stupid enough to do 5km reps on Beacon Hill for 6 hours https://bigbearevents.net/events/badgerchallenge . . . and pay £30 for the privilege?

It pains me to say it, but £30 for a long commercial race is below the going rate! I was astounded when looking at local 10km's and half-marathons last autumn.

I just entered a 25hr track race so definitely feeling stupid.

If you're down in Coventry, there's a 6-hour challenge in Coombe Abbey Park and one at Hartshill Hayes over the next few months, organised by the same people who are doing the one on Beacon Hill.

Here you are Graham, only £1 a mile. No refunds or deferrals

From the same commercial outfit who have this on their list of events

No price shown, but last time it went ahead, in 2019, it was £139.

I know pushing yourself to the limit is something that appeals to some, but this just looks like a recipe to injure yourself.

I look forward to the evolution of the "today's training" thread as you build up to this.

Did I once do a fell race that was £1 entry?

Or have I misremembered and it was only 50P?

Graham - I hesitate to say this for fear of causing offence but are you sure it was 50p? Might it instead have been 10 shillings?

    Definitely half a guinea.

But Scoffer's Steel Fell is free entry. Although Thirlmere was a bit of a drive from Ilkley - and for no prizes!
