    Favourite Fell

My first trip to the Lakes and my first fell race took me up Pike O' Blisco and it'll always be my favourite for those reasons.

But going for a run on Saturday afternoon as the sun set and with views of the pure white Langdales and the Fairfield Horseshoe, it was hard not to love Loughrigg.

Angle Tarn Pikes (for some magical dawn moments up there this Spring) and pretty much any of those in Littondale.
Also fond of Pen y Ghent, which I always imagined to be a sleeping dinosaur when I was a kid.

I think I've got agree with DT. Gable was one of the first fells my dad took me up when I was young. I vividly remember exploring the Napes via the climbers' traverse & Little Hell Gate on my own when I was 13. In my climbing days getting to the top of Napes Needle was quite something too, & then I led my dad up Needle Rdige when he was in his 70s. And took my elder daughter up from Wasdale for her first Lakes summit. And of course the view of Gable from Wasdale & that of Wasdale from Gable are two of the best in the Lakes.

Skirrid. Not well known, not big and not very severe, but the summit views are incredible and running along its sinuous spine is like flying.

Not sure if it counts as a fell, but my favorite is Shuttlingslow. It just looks like you always thought a mountain should when a litle kid, but is small enough to climb as said little'un.

At the risk of being laughed at, Simon's Seat. Not big, but the views from the top down Wharfedale are stunning. Lovely descent down through The Valley Of Desolation too. Rounded off with a cuppa in Buffers. I know what you're all thinking.....I need to get out more.

Good shout Jez. I love Beamsley Beacon and was tempted to opt for that

Nice one DT. I remember the day I saw you atop Beamsley Beacon ! Somebody famously once said that everybody drives straight on by BB in a rush to get up the Dales. And, as such, miss out on a breathtaking view from the top.
