    RIP Fido

Out on Winter Hill last Weds night we came across the last resting place of someone's beloved pooch - complete with headstone (hope nobody trips over it on the Winter Hill fell race), flowers, farewell cards and about 4 square metres of dug up and replaced moor.

Is it only since the demise of St Diana that the sentimental have been slowly converting the whole of the everyday world into a cemetary?

No. There is a stone wall in Finsthwaite with my dogs name engraved on it marking her return to her native soil nestled at its foot.

We buried two gerbils in our garden last year.
