How many clubs do night runs?

Just Thursdays for Pennine fell runs, we have a speed session on a Tuesday too, but as Zephr says Glossopdale run the fells on a Tuesday and I'm always up for a run just let me know.

Esk Valley meet on a Tuesday for headtorch runs in the hills, various locations (see website) along the northern edge of the North York Moors. Fishbulb i think you sampled the nightlights on a hol.

I did indeed, and really enjoyed it. Apologies for missing you guys from my little list! A shame that you will be unlikely to be visiting the delights of Darwen on your jollies so I can return the favour!

I'll be resuming a contract in Stockport in January and this means staying up there a couple of nights a week, sometimes a THursday. Do you welcome impostors from other clubs/can any bugger show up or is it members only?

Macc Harriers do Wednesday nights... probably same format as everyone else:

Turn up to start at seven prompt (the prompt bit I have fallen foul of a few times), usually at a pub and do about 10-12km over 90 minutes. There's plenty of variety of terrain.

If you follow the link below, the details are posted on the calender (top left of homepage). Pitching up adhoc is the way most people get involved and everyone is pretty welcoming.

...tho' January's calender still looks like a work in progress.

We started doing night runs on a Thursday at Otley about 4-5 years ago. Now we have gone to Tuesdays and Thursdays with a monthly 'away fixture' to spice things up a bit.

Bowland have a bat league, every Tuesday and Thursday, they're well attended too.

I've been taking a slow/beginners' group out on night runs for Calder Valley- purely because I hate running on the road. Have just invested in a magicshine headtorch to help light the way - unfortunately a chest infections means I've only got to use it once :-(

In the event that I can't make it out (kids and illness get in the way more than I'd like) there isn't always someone to lead an off road run, but there's always a road run and coached hillreps/ speed session.

Tuesday nights, Mytholmroyd Community Centre, 6.45pm for 7pm set off. PM me if you're thinking of coming along and I'll let you know if for some reason I'm not going to make it.

Lantern Rouge has already mentioned Macc Harriers night forays which I can vouch for having run with them for 30+ yrs. So many memorable runs but one still makes me smile when a certain member (!) ran into an electric fence in the dark - we all swear he bounced off it and ran into it again.:w00t:
