we only went from Carlisle as we couldn't get there for a reasonable time via public transport. day 1 way 39 miles, day 2 36 miles. the hilliest off-road section is around miles 30-40 but the road section is quite undulating too - I seem to remember the section leaving Chollerford being very hilly.

Hi all. I'm attempting to run the wall in mid September. The plan is to do it over two days. Does anyone know of any good places to stay over night please? Eg youth hostels, or b and b?

Thanks for all the helpful comments. It strikes me that a subtle bivi might be possible somewhere around the halfway mark too? Any thoughts on this?
