Good draw away for Leeds
Ooh bugger. Forgot to check score
Which score Pete?
Baggies v Barnsley. 2-2
Our usual 1 goal gift start to away teams was upped to 2 tonight. Good comeback in second half
Good comeback but bottom of the table at home, should really be a banker.
Absolutely. Left it late against Middlesbrough too.
tiddlywinks
....it's all downhill from here.
So you’re a Baggie PeteS....!
I remember my last trip to the Hawthorns, quite eventful. Perhaps 7-10 years ago. Train into Birmingham then the tram from Snow Hill to Hawthorns... when we got out at Hawthorns the police would let us go no further, with no explanation... there was only myself, my brother and my mate, hardly the hooligan firm of the century. After 20 minutes they let us go, but told us to go straight into the ground...
Well it was only around 1-30pm so we obviously headed straight into Soho Rd and the pub... then the reason for the police’s caution became apparent... the Cov “lads” had smashed loads of windows in that pub on Soho Rd (was it the Royal Oak..?).
After a couple of pints we went into the ground and it was a fantastic derby atmosphere... a good 2500 Cov fans, and I liked the fact that we shared that stand with the Baggies, so the atmosphere was really good.
Until the game started..... we were a goal down after 27 seconds and ended up losing 5-0....
Usual day out with Cov... all going well until the football started...!
I also remember playing at home to WBA at Highfield Road in December 2003, it was my brother's 18th birthday and we’d been on an incredibly heavy night out the night before. He was not really in any state to be doing anything, and about 10mins from the end, at 0-0 he became very unsteady and basically fainted in the middle of the West Terrace... luckily I managed to shout a steward and we got him out of the stand and into the concourse where he came round... I guess it was just tiredness and dehydration... at just 18 he wasn’t really used to a massive night out then carrying on regardless the following day...
As the game went into injury time, the crowd noise ramped up and I left my poor brother there to see Johnny Jackson go through and give us the winner, and joined the terrace in going mental... feeling a little guilty, I turned round, and my brother was right next to me doing exactly the same, with a very concerned steward somewhere in the background...!
