Re: Are you liking this winter

I'm looking for somewhere else to run now, so that I can do a return leg with the wind behind me. That won't work on my usual patch though, as I start on the western edge of a moor, run across it (easterly) and then back. Going to have a look at the other side of the valley now, see what's up that way.

Re: Are you liking this winter

I've really enjoyed the majority of runs this winter especially the few snowy ones. Had a totally magical one round Malham. I am in realtively low-lying masham so floods are more of a problem for me although they are a good way to clean your mudclaws. The wind doesn't bother me too much except for one run up Pen y Ghent when I wasn't dressed for it and my hands and face froze and the wind nearly blew away my contact lenses and caused me to choke on my own spit, pretty gross. I went straight out and bought some sealskin gloves and dug out my buff & fleecy headband...jobs a good'un.

The problem is we've been spoiled with two wonderful snowy winters. Last Wednesday night's headtorcher / surf session was memorable mind

Ha ha, I did a speed session at harriers that Wednesday and I've never laughed so much when trying to run/fly. Thirsk is particularly well positioned for sweeping gales!

We haven't had any winter yet have we...? Apart from the raging gales last week and I've only put grit down on my front path once this season.

Good point. I scraped the frost off my car on Friday for only the second time this 'winter'

I go to work in the dark, I go home in the dark. That means it's winter! The wind alongside the River Trent on Thursday was bloody awful when I turned into it!!

I've enjoyed this winter so far...
I've enjoyed being able to get out whenever and wherever I want this winter, free from all the snowy shite of the last two winters.
While I'm in training mode over the winter months, the wind has just made each training run a better and more character building workout.

now`t wrong with the weather, but plenty wrong with having to listen to folk constantly whinging and twinning about it,instead of just making the most of it.

I have had some fantastic challenging days out the kit we have these days is brilliant so where is the problem?
