Yes, nice one ba-ba. A Pennine win, and Pennine first team (I think).
That's one to savour.

Well said
It was clear to see how easily and quickly things could turn sour in those conditions, and surely a few people were saved from very serious problems yesterday. I'll be making a donation seeing the fantastic efforts that were being made to get people back to safety.
Yes, nice one Ba Ba, well deserved and some great scalps! Put a smile on my face.

a few tales going round of runners trapped in bogs. well done to everyone who helped free the bog victims. one of my club's runners was part of a bog rescue which took three people to free the poor guy! my clubmate was a little dismayed that a couple of runners seemed disinclined to stop and help when they heard the cries for help, but I expect those who didn't stop to help would probably act differently next time after reading these tales of woe.
we also had a couple of runners drop out mid-race having been caught out by the cold.
sounds like it was a real toughie!
Pat - you might know him better as Rick - he's out on most Thursdays with us & leads a Tuesday group on Tuesdays. Tom's a bit newer, but he was with us a couple of weeks ago.Originally posted by Dr. Pat
We have so many new members now I do not know Richard or Tom at all.
Anyway, yes, brilliant effort Pennine guys and Pennine women - Holly Martin & Catherine Litherland - 4th and 5th I think.
Watch out Dark Peak - we're coming for you - ha! ha!
Well, I suppose it would be a Tuesday group on Tuesdays, wouldn't it? I really should read before posting!
Hats off to organisers, marshals, MRT and all concerned. Thanks for giving us a great day and helping us stay safe. I had decidedly mixed feelings when I just scraped inside the cut-off time at Mam Nick, but with hindsight, I'm very pleased to have completed. I've never enjoyed a pie more. Near me at Win Hill was a barefoot runner - and I don't mean wearing trendy "barefoot" shoes but literally, in bare feet. (And a rather fetching bobble hat.) Anyone know if he finished? And I noticed a couple of photographers braving the elements - anyone seen any photos?
Run the race. Keep the faith.

Rev Richard:
He certainly did Finish, all barefoot too.
I bet he didn't bother with a pie. Probably had a few rusty nails and some broken glass instead.
Run the race. Keep the faith.
