I think pretty well everyone takes the same route up loose hill. A bit up the Edale road after the checkpoint, then up towards Townhead and up the ridge to Loose Hill. Just by the first style after Loose Hill take a diagonal left turn to join the lower path and avoid Back Tor altogether.

The interest really starts at Mam Nick with lots of short cuts possible but lots of mistakes to be made especially if the clag is down.

George Herbert Bridges Ward, known as G. H. B. Ward or Bert Ward (1876 - 1957) was an activist for walkers’ rights and a Labour politician Born in central Sheffield Ward worked as an engineer in a local steelworks. In 1900, he founded the Sheffield Clarion Ramblers, recognised as the first working class rambling club, with a walk around Kinder Scout. The club was named for The Clarion newspaper.
The Clarion Rambling Club became the chief organisation campaigning for public access to the moorland areas of the Dark Peak. As early as 1907, Ward participated in an illegal mass trespass of Bleaklow, a forerunner of the 1932 Mass Trespass on Kinder Scout.
In 1912, Ward formed the Hallamshire Footpath Preservation Society, and in 1926 he founded the Sheffield and District Federation of the Ramblers Association. An area of Lose Hill, in the Peak District, was given to him by the Association in 1945 and named "Ward's Piece"; he subsequently presented this to the National Trust.

It's Nobthrob that's done the Edale map. The link is here but there may not be any in stock yet?

I'm sure he'll let us know

and yes...stop worrying it's months away yet.

Interesting to see that last year the thread started as entries opened and that was in the January - this time it's 4 months earlier
I was talking to Nobthrob tonight and he thinks Lakesrunner should still have some Skyline maps in stock but he will making some more shortly.
