Plus remember that this is minimum kit.
I've spoke to the RO and he points out that the registration/entry form says it is full waterproof cover, long sleeve thermal etc, that is the rule. So make sure you have a waterproof with you.

Was it the same people who got stroppy about having to display their numbers at "The Trigger" checkpoint?

    Cups? What's wrong with a peat-stained hand?

I was chatting to a guy who was doing conservation work up on the hills at Edale station after a long Tanky's reccy and he was horrified when I told him I was drinking water from the streams!

    Different measures of danger!

It was Bleaklow (Wild Boar clough) actually I find that it is much more effective than Kinder water.

    Re: Edale Skyline 2012

just a reminder folks the number of competitors this year is much higher than a normal Skyline so get there early.

REMEMBER THE CLOCKS CHANGE THIS WEEKEND!!

you need to get kit checked before registering this year. Please bring the kit asked for by the RO

there is no excuse for not bringing any of it as you signed the entry requirements form saying you will comply...

    Kit check and Registration
    Minimum equipment to be carried:
    - Full waterproof body cover cagoule with hood and over trousers – this means kit sold as waterproofs with
    taped seams.
    Long sleeved base layer
    - Hat, buff or similar is OK
    - Gloves
    - Whistle, compass and map of the full route –mobile phone and/or GPS is allowed in addition, but is not a
substitute for knowing how to navigate the course
    - Emergency food, at least 200kcals. This is for emergencies so you will need to still have at the end of the
race - if you want to eat during the race you will need extra food as well as emergency food.
There will be kit checks for all runners, these will take place at registration you will not be able to run without all
the minimum kit as listed above – please make sure you have it all.
Random kit checks will also take place at the start and finish. If you don’t have the kit at these later checks you
will be disqualified and banned from future events, no exceptions – its cheating and you are putting yourself, me
as organiser and fell racing at huge risk by not taking personal responsibility for your safety.
Hope you all have a good race, weather and conditions looking good for a fast run for the third year running.
