you definitly got more value to your pound Rach

IanF and I finally left around 5.30, pretty tired, it was a hot old day but perfect for the marshalls, Things seemed to go really well. even on the race although I still ended up with cramp, it seems to me it's the only race I get cramp in. may be it's because it's the DP blue ribbon event and I push a bit harder than I should, still a PB for me.
Well done to all those who ran dry underfoot but hot above.

    Kitcheck went well.

however skinz stretchtights are not windproof and a google earth map will not pass as you can't navigate with it :closed:

and a big thanks to all those out supporting on the route

Yeah, excellent race and a great day for it, even if my face is now somewhat warm to the touch!

Well done to everyone involved in organising. I particularly appreciated the large number of marshals around the course (great encouragement from all of you thanks) and the beans at the end!

I DNF'd last year with a pulled calf so it was pretty satisfying to get round in good order even if I was completely spent at the end. Now to see about coming back stronger and getting under the 4 hr mark.

Ditto that dispite wearing a hat all day and plastering myself with baby suntan cream! From a personal point of view very happy with how it went, last year was my first Skyline and I blew it in the first half by going too fast and had nothing left for the second half. Paced my self much better today and ended up knocking 35 minutes off last year's time. I will echo the previous comment, it is a hell of a long way around the edge to Ringing Rodger, I can see why pople are attracted by the down-and-up!
I should apologise to Ms Thornburgh, I wanted to put on a show (because I was not dying like last year) down the last hill and she was the poor victim I overtook 50 metres from the finish

As every a pleasure to meet you Ian - I am happily enloying the well earned bottle of Rescue Ale at the moment!

On that note, I was surprised at how many people were wearing skinz or similar leggings - they must've been boiling!

Thought the kit check worked really well, glad only windproofs were required in the end.

Absolutely fantastic race. Many thanks to Dark Peak and all the Marshals, especially the extra water ladies drafted in at Mam Nick. I must have drunk at least 2 litres all told. Some great support on the way round, particularly enjoyed the cow bells! Was a real mental battle for me in the heat, especially the first half but started to feel good in the second half and really pleased to finish. Well done all

Well the answer turned out to be 1.75 litres in my rucksack bladder and probably 7 odd cups from a couple of water stations. I emptied the bladder!
