Thanks to IanF for all your efforts in a) trying to keep the race on and b) keeping us do well informed throughout. You've done a cracking job and made a tough decision in the end but the only one available to you of the valley is inaccessible.

Right call... we've got a cornice on our shed roof... going to head out from Chinley and try to get to Mam Tor but I don't reckon we'll make it
And I had just finished polishing my ski goggles! Gutted! Well done Ian, I can imagine this decision was not taken lightly, any later and people would have started setting off!
Absolutely support your decision Ian. Timely, and no doubt taken under much pressure from all directions. Well done. I'll look forward to the next skyline, whenever it is. Hope you will continue as RO and not be put off by the immense disappointment you will no doubt be feeling today.
Good call Ian and a brave one too. Many thanks for all your hard work and the superb job you have done in keeping us all informed about the state of play.
Thanks for all your efforts Ian. You can't do much about the weather. Now what am I going to do this weekend now
