Just recoveing from Achilles / soleus issues myself. Thankfully seems to be getting better and I managed 3x20mins over the last 5 days.
I hope your problems improves quickly.

I wouldn't rush back too quickly. I tore my soleus at the end of May 2011 in the Hutton Roof Race. Like an idiot I carried on running for about four miles and then couldn't walk by the evening. Six weeks out and some physio I started gently back running. I did loads of stretching and used the cross trainer to keep some fitness during the time out. Fingers crossed its been fine since. I do stretch more now though. Now if I could just sort out the ankles...
Sound advice, thanks. Have started doing some stretching this morning. Can almost walk without noticing it now, except up and down stairs when it still hurts a bit. Considering how sore it was on Monday night I think I may have indeed got off lucky.
Might try a gentle walk on my local flat 2.8km training circuit at the weekend and/or a bit of gentle cycling.
Was 'Calf Trouble' not by Adam and the Ants!? :w00t:
Gosh! you're asking the wrong fella! I was only 5 when he was in his prime
A brief update - my calf feels completely fine now - has done since Friday. Can do heel raises, etc. on the stairs no probs.
Trouble i'm getting now is pain in the buttock of the other leg going down through the knee and calf and causing slight pins and needles in my foot sometimes.
Causes mild discomfort when walking but is worse going down stairs or downhill yet went out for 20 hard miles on the bike last night and not so much as a twinge.
Quite literally, a pain in the arse:angry:
Quite possibly a tight piriformis, or other deep lateral rotators.
There are quite a few threads around on that.
ta, my mate got something similar playing football and he said the only thing that got rid of it was not exercising for a month. When he started training again it never came back.
At least I can still ride the bike so it's not a complete drama!
Tuesday night developed a torn soleus, stared as a dull ache which then tightened up a bit more. doing mile intervals. Stopped after two and ran steadily back to feel a pop in the calf after about a 1/2 mile of easy running. Now I am struggling with walking and pretty p*%$$*d off. Will be on gentle stretches and excentric calf raises for a few weeks.
"And what joy think ye, did they feel after the exceeding long and troublous ascent"
