Fuji Tozan "Marathon", or Mt Fuji climbing race, at the end of July is the one race not to miss.

Half marathon with one hill of 10,000ft elevation gain. About 3hr course record.

Gambatte, I have never been up Fuji-san, but if I did it would probably be on that race, as I am guessing that although Fuji-san is majestic from a distance, it isn't the most scenic 10,000ft climb when you are actually on it. I take it that as well as being fluent in Japanese, you have run and raced in Japan? What else have you done - any other recommendations?

Just posted about my embarrassing bear spray incident...
