    Vet Categories

I'm 44 now but will be 45 on 6th July just before Wasdale which is on the 14th. Might be a stupid question() but do I enter Wasdale as a vet 45 or do you stay the same vet category you start the season with? Doing Duddon, Wasdale and Borrowdale as part of the LCT.

For a single race it is usually age on the day, for a series it is usually your age at the first race.
I vaguely remember reading that in France you'd already be a vet 45, you change categories on Jan 1st, in anticipation of significant birthdays - good for December babies!

That's how Orienteering age classes work - good for ageing December babies but not the juniors - as you go up the age category (e.g. to an M/W18) in the year you turn 18.
