    Re: Just noticed new Saddlewor

Thank you to all at Saddleworth for a top notch race. Thought I'd be clever after Alphin in using my local knowledge to avoid the trod and take a direct line over the tussocks / boggy bits and therefore aim to maintain height - big mistake as I found myslef working twice as hard. Eventually gave up only to found myself or my shoes stuck in a particular peaty part near to the res. Not so sure which was more cruel - the uphill start or the loooong run in.

My quads are trashed today, must be going soft!

Any pictures? Saw a few folk with cameras out on the course.
Biriani for endurance, pathia for speed.

Who's back again this year?! It's my local stomping ground and I run the edges regularly but I'm still getting excited about this years race! One of my favourite runs. Hope to see a few of you there.

Looking forward to this, was thinking Walsh's, but it has been dryish so what do you think about trail shoes for speed?? I remember that first climb from May's Fell race, but don't know the route after????
Shaved my dreads off...now just 'Jeff'...

Thanks to all involved for today's race, it was a cracker. The first few hundreds yards up the field had me blowing out my arse!!!! But if you don't put it in you'll be queuing at the stile. Once on the open moor it's typical peaty up and downs with good soggy underfoot conditions, but thankfully nothing too leg sapping. The last mile is fast if the legs allow it, mine didn't, the buggers. Good turnout of 140 runners, only 50 odd last year...maybe the word is spreading just how good this race is.
