great pic of the Ingleburger from your decent of whernside
Green Lane was a nightmare - it was an ice sheet most of the way - and a hand rail would have been darn handy. I went down via Megger Stones because the snow was so deep to go my normal way (the fellsman and Whernside fell race route which drops down to Blea Gill Rigg (?)) and there was a semi trodden path going that way. And the picture of Ingleborough was taken from Great Coum - the Whernside ridge in between doesn't get in the way at that angle. As for the 'longest wall to follow in the world' between the Whernside trig and Ewes Top; well its pretty endless going up or down

Love the Ingleborough & 3 men of Gragareth pic. I need to get some miles in so I can enjoy the Dales fells again. Big changes from next week on so there's every chance.

Does this mean a long awaited return for Stolly Hill Runs?

A fantastically brilliant run yesterday. The 3 peaks but from Ingleton - about 6 miles longer and 400 feet higher than my usual 3 peaks run from Horton

    Re: Today's epic run!

On Friday I had a stab at the Dark Peak Six County tops, but bailed at 40 miles. I had done four counties and four tops, solo and unsupported, but broke down at Crowden six miles or so from completion. In mitigation I had been Sh!tt!ing since mile 7 and puked 4 times. By the time I hit Salter's Brook I was done for and crawled back to Crowden. I will be having another go in six weeks, using some of the route knowledge gained to my advantage and will finish! Still, it is twice I have made it up four county tops and everything inbetween under my own steam.
