I ran it in Mudclaws last year. I won't be doing that agin. Feet are still achey...
It's only training if it's raining. It's no fun in the sun.
So....what will you wear druid, trail shoes or roads?.
I wore Roclite 315s last year purchased 3 days before the race. Perfect. Wore them for Excalibur marathon yesterday, too. Again, perfect. Think I wore X-Talon 2 years ago but the rocky bit coming off Whernside was a bit much for them. Roclites gave me better protection. Haven't a clue what 'Harriers' are so I can't comment.

Ran the course yesterday and opted for Roclites, it was very dry and you'd probably get away with road shoes in those conditions, but a proper trail shoe would give better grip, partic. up the front of Whernside.

I'd say Wave Harriers would be perfect for it.
Wave Harriers here too, last two years have been dry but have had no problems with comfort etc.
One word of caution though; now there's even more paving coming off Whernside & you have to stick to it, if it's wet Harriers'll be treacherous. I've no confidence whatsoever on wet rock in them, but other than that they're an ideal shoe.
I think I'm going to be trying these babies out:
