    f-lite 230 last two years; perfect for what is mostly a dry, rocky trail-race type surface.

    I've always worn Walshs, but I'm not sure I'd recommend them, its just what I nearly always wear for off-road races. Don't think I'd wear road shoes just for ascent of Whernside, I dont think I'd like them coming off Inglebrough either!! If I was doing it this year I'd wear my Salomon Speedcross, they'd be ideal I reckon.
