They called me mad and i called them mad and damn them they outvoted me !!!.
just looking at the map of the course - i was over that way on sunday.
i missed the footpath that goes off right (the first ascent is shown slightly to the west (right going up hill) of this path) from shatton lane, saw a gate on the right which had a little plaque saying no right of way. Also there was a very scary labrador a the entrance to the drive of the farm on the left (lees hall farm?) - i threw it part of my nutrigrain bar to distract it - and edged past (perimter guard dogs are always scary, i'm a dog person and this was a lab for fecks sake - 90% of the time they stay in their little territory - but its still scary when its all hackles and teeth and you don't know if it'll run out)
it all gave an impression of defensive land owners round shatton way.

Anyone done/doing this ? If my ankle is up to it am bobbing along.
Hi there,
I am planning (as a novice) to do this race. Providing I dont bottle out the day before or even on the day!
Maybe. Depends how I feel & if i make it to Moel Wnion and back. Its a nice quick race with good hill and a little bit of rough.
'Normal' people are the ones you don't know very well.
I'll be there. My manager is marshalling at the bottom of the decent sending us back up the hillside, so looking forward to swearing at him and getting away with it.
Its better to have fought and lost, than not have fought at all.
Its good addition to the calendar this- a variety of steep, technical and runable sections. Being sent back up the hill at 5 miles was a test esp. last year with wind against. Last bit of descent across the fields was as fast as your legs could carry you- a real leg tester this one.
Here's to the laid back fell runner...
