Routes from kendal

Based in Kendal town centre for a week and could do with a 4 or 5 mile off road run from town or close by. Don't have time to head into the lakes unfortunately and no maps with me. Any suggestions please?

Head NW from the town centre across the golf course to Cunswick Scar.
West up the Brigsteer road onto Scout Scar. Plenty of loops and variations up there.
There is always the Helm above Oxenholme station; run there and a couple of different hill reps will get you your mileage.

Thanks, will give that a go. Hope to be able to get a couple in before I head home.

I run something like this route a couple of times a week. Instead of coming back via underbarrow road I just turn around at the trig point on scout scar and come back the same way. If its clear you get fantastic views of most the lakeland mountains. Enjoy!
