    I tripped

Just back from Penrith minor injuries clinic, where a very nice nurse superglued the hole in my top lip back together. My face looks like a pound of mince. My knee's bleeding in various places, my thigh's got a four-inch bruise/graze, and my shoulder's got a pretty good graze too. And one finger of each hand has stiffened up & hurts. You wouldn't think you could do that much damage running on the flat would you? I don't think I'm going to be lining up at Heptonstall in the morning somehow. I'll rest up till Tuesday.

For the record, I was running down from Swirral Edge towards Birkhouse Moor, on the flat bit after Red Tarn. I tripped just before one of the stone drainage channels that run across the path. Hands went into channel, face hit edge...

Cheers all. I'll be back in action in no time - just a bit uncomfortable & disfigured at the moment. A fall like that's nothing like the serious injuries that usually get posted here.
