    Toenails

Does anyone else have problems with deeply discoloured toenails after lots of running through peatbogs or general moorland. mine go a horrible deep brown colour, so much so the missus has taken to painting them with clear nail varnish or otherwise ( metalic black was the worst so far) , any advice taken

Sealskin socks - they even withstand the peat bogs on Ilkley moor!

What do we need toenails for anyway? What do they do?

nope, I don't have any problems with deeply discoloured toenails.
They're just a delightful shade of peatbog.

the only advice I can offer is a change of perspective.

Not problems, no. You see the glass half empty. You should be revelling in your enhanced-coloured toenails. If you run through clay or iron-rich soils you can get some lovely reds to mix with the standard peat brown.

do you go around in sandals in the winter as well, just to indicate the mankiness of said toenails? I hope so. That would certainly put you in the "legendary" column of forumites.
