For finely tuned athletes like you energy is probably not a problem, but for biomechanical and physiological disasters like me gels are a must!

Otley Run??? BG??? Whats the difference? They are both endurance efforts that start in the early hours and plunge into darkness (usually around the skyrac)...there are route variations a plenty, and solo attempts are frowned upon. Also they usually end up finishing on a set of steps whilst the completee struggles to walk covered in his own vomit
Trying to plod up hills every day slightly faster than the day before

This is all you need (plus shorts, if you're shy, and the stuff the race organiser goes on about):

Beer before racing, beer after racing.

    Thats my philosophy

Does this mean, when I do The Three Peaks (not a fell run blah blah blah...I know!!) I can pop in the pub In Horton, the pub at the Ribblehead viaduct AND the pub as you cross the road on you're way to Ingleborough where usually any number of 'tourists' are quaffing large quantaties of Old Peculiar as I struggle past sucking on a 3/4 empty bladder of Nuun solution!!!

You have opened up some interesting debate here Turbo.

Indeed whilst we're on the subject of diet I would like to take this opportunity to ask the forum if it thinks it is possible to survive on a diet of just Apples?

To be perfectly honest I'm trying to invent my own diet to make a few quid on the side.

I know it sounds a stupid question but I'm serious. I have just done it for 24hrs and it's left me feeling bloody awful, I've got terrible wind and a shocking headache I feel sick at the thought of eating another apple.

But that's probably my body detoxing itself of all the non appley shite that I have eaten over the last few years I reckon.

I really facy a plate of pasta but I am going to have an apple, no pain no gain.

I was 14 stone and apound when I started yesterday and I'm carrying on until lunch tomorrow. I'll be disappointed if I'm not 6lb lighter.

Anyway the original question, if I got stuck on an island that only had apples would I survive?
