    Night Shift

Who's on the forum night shift then? One or two members, many more lurkers probably just back from filling up their cars, jam jars and Tupperware at the petrol station!

Ha, that ruins a few illusions. I'd always thought those posting in the wee hours where insomniacs or drunks or just general misfits. Now you've provided a sensible reason for being on the forum at 2am a little bit of the 'magic' has gone.

    Re: Night Shift

I finished my nights yesterday (tuesday) morning, but didn't get to bed all day due to my other half being unwell and having to go to A&E. I was intending to do the Bunny runs at Haworth last night but due to being knackered I didn't bother. The weather was a bit fierce as well!
If I don't do my club off-roader tonite though, feel free to call me a wimp.

On night shift 2 of 4. Really struggle to get runs in between 12 hour nights. Weather looking good for tommorow so might have to make a special effort!

    Re: Night Shift

I try and do something short and enjoyable, that if I don't fancy when I've started I can still enjoy the walk or look around. I did a VERY short 1.7 mile yesterday, in a nature reserve. Partly as a recce but partly to go see the birds and stuff. Most I usually do is 3, very occasionally 5 or so. But I also try and do my long run on my 'turn-around' day, before my first nights. Its not too bad for me as I generally do 2 days, 2 nights then off for 4.

    Re: Night Shift

Fjell Guy, that's the shift pattern I work too. Usually it's only the one day in between the nights that I can't get out, unless something happens (like this week!) and I don't get to bed at all after my last night shift. I went to run with the club last night but I missed them and not being sure where they'd gone I ended up running on my own again (well, accompanied by my dog), up on my normal patch. A good run, but disappointed to miss the club social one.
