I sometimes think many of the steep lakeland races are actually a bit easier because you have to walk the ups
And some of the very steep ones are even easier as you get to use your hands as well, as I found on Saturday hauling myself up Eel Crags like a ragged animal!
This new 'metrification' is nothing but an inconvenience (to put it nicely), I am forever calculating what each race is in miles/feet whilst reading the calendar so it actually means something.

Complete opposite for me I'm afraid.. metric makes much more sense.

I can't understand why they decided not to include both metric and imperial. If they'd done that then everybody would have had something to disagree with.

Well for distance it has to be miles (kilometers are rubbish) but I think I can cope with meters for height
