Sounds god. I might be up for this. Clash with Classic quarter- but better value and less travel , for me at least.
Oo er. I might have to do this - I can't think of a good excuse not to at the moment...

Oh poo. I was wanting to do this. GS or this? I know what I'd rather be doing. If I fail to complete just one Runfurther event between now and then, the dilemma will be no more.
Blimey - mortgage needed for both of them! Think I'll stick with 3 Rings of Shap!
Probably too far for me.
But I'm tempted to try anyway
Details of the 'Summer Tour' also now available - a summer version of The Tour de Helvellyn - on Saturday 23rd June.
This is the same day as the NAV4 Dawn to Dusk Ultra. Both run from Askham and are professionally run, but 'low key' events. Entry fees including the full monty - camping, etc...

blimey the tours gone up in price hasnt it ??? hope the winter tour hasnt shot up too !
Hello old un -
You're not comparing 'like for like' - The Summer Tour includes camping, more refreshments, a baggage drop system and use of the open air heated swimming pool adjacent to the hall / car park. We can't put these events on without considerable expenses including paying a huge chunk to land owners. These events attract 'commercial rates' from land agents as it (sadly) isn't covered by FRA insurance.
And 'Yes' the TdeH will go up a bit next year .... for the same reasons and people told us it was far too cheap!

hi joe
it looks like i am guilty of judging them like for like, i should have read all the info before posting. not being an event orginizer i can only hazard a guess at costs involved and monies to be paid out. i wouldnt dream of knocking the event, i thoroughly enjoyed it last year, although i would have liked to stop high level a bit more, by the sounds of it like the summer tour over helvelyn, but can appreciate what this would involve for yourselfs and saftey issues. as for price i thought it fairly priced for value for money and will be looking forward to this years tour and catching up with the bearded one. keep up the good work nav.4
