Shoe issues and general

Hi,

I did some cross country races a while ago and had some Felldancers. Are these thought to be ok as walshes seem to be the preferred brand? I also use Saloman XA Pro 3D's as general mountain training - are these nopt used for racing and is it just a weight/grip issue? I haven't done much fell racing though have relocated back to the northwest (Pendle area) and looking to get into it form road running (times are 10k ~ 37mins, marathon 3:30). Are there any good events to aim for?

Why not link up with some of the Clayton guys if you're Pendle based. They will be able to give you some good advice on shoes as well as some stiff training runs.

You'll get as many opinions about shoes as there are contributors to this forum . For what it's worth my favourites are Walsh PB Racer and Mountain Bear Gladiator. There's a number of shoe threads in this section if you search. Felldancers aren't made any more although I think there were some still available until quite recently.
