It's perfect for Sky with Cav, a lone wolf capable of winning the green jersey and wiggo a FC contender, they can have their cake and eat it.

    Interesting stuff.

But I was thinking, even from Wiggins's point of view, there was an occasion yesterday when he was pretty exposed. Bernie Eisel and EBH were looking after Cavendish. If Cavendish hadn't been a consideration and the whole team was dedicated to Wiggins's effort, he'd have had those two as back-up.

Not saying it's a bad arrangement, and, as I say, I'm not the most experienced here, but it's hard to get your head around why it's been done. Isn't BMC all set up for Evans? The trade off might be a reason, and the idea that Cav will be the focus next year, for example.

    Interesting stuff anyway.

Read elsewhere the idea that Wiggins in Yellow could be part of a train for Cavendish on the Champs Elysees... That'd be quite nice!

Another cracking finish but why don't they use a wider street? It looked chaos behind, falling off a bike HURTS, it looks terrifying at those (even uphill) speeds .

A pretty crucial guy as well unfortunately.

Apparently Wiggins was annoyed after Stage 1 at the lack of protection he got. Maybe EBH needs to start thinking that The Tourminator has his number and he might as well stay with Wiggins till the end.

Different riders - no way Cavendish could have won a stage of that sort.

yep roads at several points in the closing 30-40km were too narrow for a 200-man peloton - poor planning.

It's so refreshing to have some positive post about the Tour, it really is an awesome spectacle. I went down to the Manchester Velodrome for about four years when my son James was 12, we did some of the league riding within time. One of the young lads who welcomed us on our first day was Ben Swift, at the time he was whipping everybody including us adults. He also used to whizz around on a Uni cycle in between races, so a bit good at bike handling as well (I certainly don't have to state some obvious facts). But 15 years later here he is on the Sky Team, yes, that is what it takes even from pure talent.
There are so many variables at the Tour, that nothing can be a foregone conclusion and that is what makes it so brilliant, well plus the scenery

    Enjoy......

I'm begining to think they could all do with little stabilzer wheels on the back wheel, it would be much safer and look great.

Roads were tighter on the Giro though. For me this is Wiggo's best chance with Contador out this year. I do like Evans though...Theres a guy who knows how to suffer...
Anybody else think the BMC Time machine TT bikes are just stunnas?
