Junior Do

As ever, we look to celebrate the years Championship with a get together for all those who took part (including U8s and U10s) and award the years Championship Trophies. This years do will be kindly hosted by Rossendale Harriers at Marl Pits, (Newchurch Road, Rawtenstall, Lancashire BB4 6DF) on Saturday 21st July.

As last year, it will have a training camp feel and be about –

- Having some fun and getting to know other runners a bit better
- Have a coaching/training session with an FRA coach
- A presentation from a fell running World Champion
- Learning and practising some new skills (vital for running on the mountains & fells)
- Presentation of 2012 FRA English Junior Championship trophies, collect t-shirts & hoody’s
- (remember, 4 races = t-shirt, all 6 races = hoody AND t-shirt)

Programme for the Day

10.00 – Arrival, introduction
10.15 -Into groups with a coach, training/coaching session, technique inputs with feedback
11.30 -Pippa Maddams talk
12.00 -Orienteering input + event
13.15 – Lunch
13.45 -Input on next years fixtures, International stuff, training camps, U20 transition input, etc.

14.00 -2012 FRA Junior Championship Individual and team presentations

14.30 – Finish/depart. But I’ll be available for any coaches/parents who wish to chat.

FRA Hoodys and technical T-Shirts

These unique and highly sought after tops are awarded to all those that have started 4 (Performance t-shirt) or 6 (Performance t-shirt AND Hoody) FRA Junior Championship races. This year in a Spanish European Champions style RED!

For those eligible, there will be a link to the FRA shop posted on the FRA website and the FRA junior forum after the final Championship race at Sedbergh.

Ordering on this site will cost £1. Please state the size you require as well as your name, there is a cross check against Championship results. Your brand new t-shirt and/or Hoody will then be available to be collected at the junior do.

If you cannot make the do don’t worry, your award can be posted to your address, however, postage & packing will be at your own expense.

In order to ensure your order can be delivered to the do, the closing date for ordering will be midnight on –
- Tuesday 17th July -
If you miss out on this deadline we cannot guarantee your top will be at the do, however it can still be ordered and delivered to you (own p&p).

Hi, Duncan - with Sedbergh, my 9 year old will hopefully complete all 6 races, running in the U10's. Will this mean he gets a hoody or a t-shirt (just so I can prepare myself for the grumpiness should it be t-shirt...!!)

If you have started 4 races you get a T-Shirt, 6 you get a T-Shirt and a Hoodie. The shop has a list of who gets what!

To get them delivered via the Junior Do you have to have ordered by midnight on Tuesday 17th July. (They will order the T-Shirts on the Wed, receive on Thursday and print them up Thursday and Friday before delivering them to me!)

As said, a great end to the junior championship, many thanks to Rossendale for hosting it, to Duncan and the rest of the guys for the organisation, but most of all to the juniors themselves, the parents and coaches for a day that was so thoroughly enjoyed by all.
