    Broomhead Chase

Reluctantly , due to saturated fields, the plug has been pulled on Broomhead Show.
However , Ben Rimmington-Wilson, the owner of Broomhead Estate, is happy for the Broomhead Chase to go ahead as usual.

Car parking will be at Broomhead Hall Farm and the registration / start / finish
will be in the show field, follow signs from parking area.

Please pass this information on to others that may not visit this forum regularly but may wish to participate in a 3.5 mile / 800 foot race with no tarmac what so ever and a couple of decent river crossings.

My contact details can be found in the fell calender, Broomhead Chase or Trunce.

    Thanks in advance

I'll leave that to the front runners like SS, I'm more worried about the height of the stream if it rains again, I won't be going that hard after the Phoenix,

PB do I qualify for the TIT race if I do Two in Three
If nothings happening monday will finally be on the Trunce again.

    Broomhead Chase

Anyone want a cracking short, 3.5 miles / 800ft, race associated with a wonderful country show. Not a bit of tarmac in this course.
Race at 14:30 show starts around mid-day on Sunday 13th July from Broomhead Hall Farm, Sheffield - SE 244 962 (Dark Peak Map)
Good one for families as 40% of course is visible from show field.
Bradfield Breweries to be there this year, some nice local brews.

It's a great race with the 'Trig' just over half a mile from my house.

A fast down hill start followed by a stream crossing and a good climb to the trig, fast descent to the woods and another stream crossing.
Then theres that lovely sting in the tail...

Unbelievably I can't make it and will be down near Guilford in Surrey But I'll be back to collect the last T in the TIT race. Trunce on Monday

One of 3 races in the 3in3 series with Thurlstone Chase on Saturday 11th and Trunce on Monday 13th. Momento to all that do all three + name into a draw with a chance of a £50 prize.

    Re: Broomhead Chase 2009

As Andy says the 3 in 3 series kicks off with the Thurlstone Chase Sat 11th July 3.00pm from the sports field in Thurlstone - a shade under 4 miles its a fast course over tracks and fields with a sting the tail

Theres a £25.00 prize for breaking the long-standing course records - M 20.50 (1986) F 22.40 (19.85) - apparently the field has been cut so we can finish in the usual place up by the goal posts

Plus - some of the prizes this year include Woodhead MR Rescue Ale (I hope )
Oh - and the 3 in 3 mementoes are dead good this year!!
Pain is just weakness leaving the body
